My contribution to my health
What can I do for my health myself?
You can easily relieve many minor complaints yourself. Some complaints go away on their own after a short time – such as a cold.
You can do a lot for your health yourself. A balanced diet, exercise and mental well-being help you stay healthy and get well.
Helping yourself requires experience and, above all, information from reliable sources. Good health information is easy to understand without prior knowledge and helps you better understand your body, your health or illnesses. You can recognise good health information by certain quality criteria.
When I notice the first signs of an infection, I look at what I can do myself. Or I go straight to the doctor.Health Heroine Karin, Graz
An example
Ali (26) from Hartberg feels a slight scratchy throat on Friday afternoon after taking a long walk in cool temperatures. He drinks a warm sage tea – his mother always gave him that as a child, too. To take it easy, he also cancels his weekend plans and instead lies down comfortably on the couch, warmly covered. Because the pain is worse on Sunday morning, he calls the health hotline 1450. There he finds out which pharmacy is open and gets pain-relieving lozenges. He decides to go to his GP on Monday if the sore throat does not improve.
